About La Casa
Inspired by the architecture of Mykonos, Greece’s most well known holiday resort, La Casa is elegantly designed with clean lines and pure form and shuns all excessive decorations and motifs. Set against a backdrop of Mykonos’ iconic white and blue, brightly coloured flowered balconies and louvred shutters give La Casa an interesting and distinctive image.
The mere mention of Mykonos brings to mind a spectacular, unique landscape of blazing bare rock, blindingly white cube-like buildings, narrow whitewashed alleyways and lacy stretches of sandy beaches, all set against a shocking blue background – blue sky, blue sea, blue doors and window frames. To evoke the streetscape of a Mykonian village with its meandering alleys that open up to small courtyards, a central water court with two tiers of swimming pools takes centre stage at La Casa. Sun tanning decks, located throughout the water court, promote pockets of activity.
La Casa is conveniently located at the junction of Woodlands Drives 16 and 53, near the Woodlands and Admiralty MRT stations and well served by the SLE (Seletar Expressway) and the BKE (Bukit Timah Expressway). Close by are shopping centres like Causeway Point and Vista Point, the Woodlands Civic and Regional Centres, the library, bus interchange and stadium as well as choice schools including the Singapore Sports School, the American School, the Republic Polytechnic and Innova Junior College.
Surrounded by the four residential towers, the lushly landscaped grounds of La Casa house an astonishing range of resort facilities and water features that emulate the picturesque sun-drenched beaches and transparent waters of Mykonos. There are five different types of pools, sun-tanning decks, a multi-functional clubhouse, a professionally equipped gym, steam baths, a fitness corner and barbeque pits. In short, every facility you need to live healthily and live well.
The traditional houses of Mykonos greatly influenced many modern architects in the 1920s, especially Le Corbusier, the French founder of the white cubist architectural style.
Likewise, all rooms at La Casa are well arranged to capture reflective light and refreshing breeze and orientated for uninterrupted views of the internal communal green or the surrounding leafy neighbourhood. Within each unit, two types of kitchen space are provided: a `wet’ kitchen for food preparation and a ‘dry’ or display kitchen for entertaining guests.
