In a recent press release by LTA, cycling facilities have been ramped up for cyclists in Tampines, Pasir Ris, Yishun, Sembawang and Taman Jurong. The enhancement is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to promote Active Mobility. A vision of the walk, cycle and ride Singapore movement towards a car-lite society and improving intra-town connectivity. The improvement in these facilities will see more bicycle crossings, connections, and clearer signs.
While Tampines is already a walking and cycling town, the current network will be extended to the future Tampines Downtown MRT line and Sunplaza Park. This extension is set to improve the connectivity of the executive condominiums at the City Life @Tampines and The Tampines Trilliant. The number of bicycle crossings will also be increased to allow cyclists to ride safely and seamlessly through the current network. New launches like The Alps Residences and The Santorini will be able to tap on this network for a significant reduction in commuting time to the regional centre.

Over at Taman Jurong, the cycling path is expected to double from the current 5.4km to 10km. The extension will significantly improve connectivity for residents at the Lake Life Executive condominium to the MRT station. The improvement will also give residents at Lakeholmz, Caspian, and Lakefront Residences a direct cycling path to Lakeside MRT station.

Cycling links will also be added to improve connectivity near some MRT stations. At Potong Pasir, a new path will connect the Kallang Park Connector to Potong Pasir MRT station. This route will allow commuters who are currently using the Kallang Park Connector to access Potong Pasir MRT Station directly. At the same time, residents at the nearby Sennett Residence, Venue Residences, Sant Ritz and The Poiz Residences can use the same path to access the Kallang Park Connector.
