A Total Of Five On Confirmed List and Ten on Reserve ListÂ
In a press release by the Ministry of National Development(MND) on the 16th of December 2016. The government announced that the GLS programme in the first half of 2017 would consists of five confirmed sites as well as ten reserve sites. The five sites on the confirmed list will be able to yield an estimated 2330 private residences. The number is slightly higher than that of 2016 which saw a supply of 2170 units in the very same period.
As for those sites on the reserve list, seven are private residential plots(with one being an EC). While the remaining three consists of one mixed development as well as two commercial sites. The total number of residences expected to yield on the reserve list is around 5135 units. This figure is very similar to the reserve list in the 2nd half of 2016 which stands around 5375. And as such, able to supply a steady pipeline of new private housing units to meet the requirements of the population.
