SINGAPORE – Students and visiting academics will soon be able to check into a new 185-room hotel called The Ridge that is being built on the National University of Singapore’s Kent Ridge campus.
Located in Computing Drive near the NUS School of Computing and Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, the hotel will also cater to professionals, according to information found on the hotel website.
The Ridge is expected to be completed in April 2026, the website said.
Rooms will come in three options: deluxe rooms, premier rooms and premier suites.
The hotel sits right next to the NUS Society Kent Ridge Guild House, and hotel guests will have access to some of the facilities there, including a 50m pool and a 5,800 sq ft fitness centre.
Hotel guests will also be able to tap high-speed internet, enjoy round-the-clock concierge services, and use a meeting facility for in-house conferences.
NUS accommodation now includes the Kent Vale Residences in Clementi Road – which are mainly flats for faculty members, visitors to the university, and conference participants.
A subcontractor involved in the project posted photos of The Ridge’s room furnishings on Instagram in September, which have since been deleted, reported Chinese daily Lianhe Zaobao on Oct 27.
The closest hotels to the NUS campus now are in the Pasir Panjang Road area, near what NUS students call the “supper stretch” of eateries selling food and drinks late into the night.
In response to queries from The Straits Times, an NUS spokesperson said: “We will share more information when the campus hotel is officially launched.”
